Dear Parents or Guardians:
Welcome to Cutchogue East and we hope your child has a happy, healthy, successful experience at school. I would like to review some of the health office procedures.
The health office will provide first aid only for injuries that occurs in school. The health office is not permitted to administer treatment for any injury that occurs at home or off school grounds. Dressings applied at home or by a physician cannot be removed or reapplied by school personnel, unless a physician’s treatment order is received.

If your child becomes ill at school you will be called to pick up your child. It is essential that we have a phone number where you can be reached and an emergency number in the event you cannot be reached. If your daytime or emergency phone number change during the year, please notify the school immediately.
Students are not allowed to carry medication with them, including cough drops. Medications, including prescription medications and all over the counter medications, may be administered in the Health Office only with a written order from the prescribing physician and the parent’s signed permission. The medication must be delivered to the Health Office in the original container with the student’s name and the name of the medication and the dosage. Medication are not to be transported on the bus.
Please call the school if your child will be absent. The absentee phone number is (631) 734-6049 ext. 2301. You may leave a message.
