Dear Parents,
It's hard to believe, but this is my final update for the school year! The month of
May was a busy one! We plotted points in all 4 quadrants of the coordinate plane
and used data and corresponding terms to create line graphs. In addition, our
spiral review of previously taught concepts and problem solving practice continued.
During our final month together we will take a look at some 6th grade topics that have
piqued the interest of the children. We are beginning with positive and negative integers and absolute value. If time permits, the children will leave 5th grade being able to add, subtract, multiply and divide with negative integers!
As always, should you have any math-related questions or concerns, please feel free to send me an email at jfinger@mufsd.com. It has been an absolute pleasure to serve as your child's math teacher this year! The children have grown tremendously as mathematicians and I have watched their confidence grow monumentally over the course of the year!
Kind regards,
Jeanne Finger
