Hello Cutchogue East Community!
I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Kristina Moon, and I am the new
Assistant Principal and Instructional Technology Administrator at Cutchogue East. I am so
excited to join not only the Cutchogue East community, but Mattituck-Cutchogue as a whole.
The North Fork of Long Island is truly a gem and special place to be.
I have been an educator for the past 17 years. I am married to my husband Billy, a nineteen
year veteran of the FDNY. Together, we have two children (Brianne, 9 and Colin, 7), and two dogs
(Marshall and Coco). My roles have included elementary classroom teacher, reading specialist
and literacy coach. My approach has always been student-centered; where all stakeholders
are involved in providing an education that is not only rigorous, but developmentally
appropriate to meet the various needs of our learners. I also believe in building transparency
in which there are open lines of communication between the community and school. This
allows us to continue to work together, meet academic needs, but also find ways to focus on
the social and emotional well-being of our students. When students know they are supported,
they are in turn going to feel successful.
My door is always open, and I look forward to getting to know not only your children, but you
as well. I encourage you to say hi, introduce yourself and share a little something with me
whether it be while I am in the building this summer or when school begins. Again, I cannot
wait to begin working with everyone, and being a part of the already great happenings at
Cutchogue East. Have a wonderful summer!
Sincerely,
Kristina Moon
Assistant Principal
