Let Grow Play Club Session #1
Dates: 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8, 11/15, 11/29, 12/6, 12/13, 12/20
Grades: KG, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Description: Let Grow Play Club will be offered once a week before school. It’s a new kind of play program. The Club is the brainchild of Let Grow co-founder Dr. Peter Gray, the eminent psychologist who has spent his life studying the crucial role of unstructured, mixed-age “free play” in developing children’s creativity, confidence, and ability to thrive. Weather permitting, we will be outdoors or in inclement weather in the gym. Mixed-age play benefits all kids. Older students develop responsibility, leadership and empathy. Younger kids learn executive function by trying to be like the big kids. There will be a limit on how many students can attend per grade level on a first come first serve basis. Cartoon Club

Description: Do you like to draw? Do you want to draw? Come hang with me on Tuesdays and Thursdays! Let's develop your skills of using lines and shapes to create characters!
Art Club

Art Portfolio Club

Description: An Art Club to prepare students for a formal portfolio review conducted in person by the "NYSATA Portfolio project." 10 students can attend the adjudication, if there are more than 10 students interested we can do practice and preparation portfolio reviews and building for next year.
STEM Club

Students will enter the 2024 worldwide Science Buddies Engineering Challenge, in which they design, build, test, and reiterate a machine according to the specifications provided. In addition, students will do mini experiments, use technological devices such as spheros, etc.

Nature Club provides a way for students to explore their curiosity and excitement about nature using our school grounds. Students will engage in activities that involve walking around the school property making observations of plants and animals with the integration of science. Students will also be doing hands on projects/ crafts.

Students will be invited to participate in the many aspects of the stage production of ________ There are several ways for students to engage in this performance. Students with interests in performance, art, technology and stage crew will be able to showcase their talents during the preparation schedule and final production.
This program allows students with an interest in theater to be introduced to all aspects of a stage production. Students with a passion for performance, art, and technology will be invited to participate. It will provide an after school opportunity to be involved in an activity that is fun, team building and challenging.
The CE Musical is designed to engage students in the performing arts and theater. Students will learn acting skills, have fun singing and dancing all while working as a team to perform in front of an audience. The musical provides students with various opportunities to develop social skills, problem solving skills, strong peer relationships, and empathy.

Journaling and Mindful Writing
Dates: Tuesdays 11/14, 11/21, 11/28, 12/12, 12/19, 1/2, 1/9, 1/16, 1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13
Grades: 4th and 5th
Students will create a journal that they can be used to express their thoughts. We will explore a variety of ways to journal outside of traditional writing. Students are welcome to come with a fresh notebook to start or continue to use one already created.

The garden club will have two sessions. One in the fall and one in the spring. The fall session will be for students in 3rd grade. The spring session will be for students in 4th grade. Students will plant, harvest, maintain and prepare the school garden. Students will enjoy learning outdoors. If any 5th or 6th grade students would like to volunteer and assist by mentoring peers in the garden, please contact us.
Outdoor activities in the school garden will provide multiple opportunities for students to work collaboratively while nurturing their physical, social and emotional well being.

Description: This club aims to invite the upperclassman of Cutchogue East to take a leadership role in our community both in and out of school. Class representatives will serve as liasons between their classmates and the greater CE community to accomplish our goals together as a community.
Cultural Connections Club

Students in the Cultural Connections Club can showcase their positive leadership skills! This club will bring together students who have different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The Cultural Connections Club will build cultural competency across diverse groups of students. Students will celebrate similarities and differences, including languages, likes and dislikes and hobbies. This club aims to bring together students who have different cultural and linguistic backgrounds, mainly through trust building activities and collaborative games.
NYSSMA Band Club

Description: Students signed up for the NYSSMA Solo Festival will have a regular time slot to receive individual attention on their solo in preparation for the festival.
NYSSMA Chorus Club

NYSSMA chorus club (New York State School Music Association) is where students come to learn the technical details of singing as well as to prepare a vocal solo to be performed in front of an adjudicator. The scores from these performances are one of the bases for qualification for the All-County Festivals held throughout the year. The students meet on either Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday from 3 to 4 pm depending on their choice of solo.
